Did you go to college? Did you grow up? Did you get a real job? Start a family? Drive a Volvo? Wear a suit to work? Enjoy the finer things? If YES then go to a different hotel. Just kidding. If your single stay here, traveling with friends, stay here. Why? Here is why:
What you need to know:
1) Do you like privacy?
If YES find another hotel
2) Are you uncomfortable pooping in public?
If YES
Look for another option some rooms have a toilet stall with a door other just have a toilet and curtain. If your easily embarrassed the walls are thin most likely the entire room and probably the entire floor will hear you.
3) Has whomever you are traveling with seen you naked and vice versa?
If NO
Do you want them too?
If YES stay here.
If NO
You'd rather not see each other naked look for other options showers are in the main room next to the bed or in the living room see through glass or just a curtain. There are no walled off bathrooms. You get idea... if you don't imagine your bathroom at home with no walls around it. Simple!
4) are you old, frail, or weak?
If YES stay somewhere else lots of stairs no elevator heavy luggage and weak bones means a no go. No sense breaking a hip just go somewhere else.
5) The key - do you mind carrying around a 6" block of wood.
If No then don't bother. Key is attached to wood that is the most annoying thing in my pocket the whole trip most cameras take up less space these days. Leave it at the desk front when out and about.
If your single it's a chill place to stay relatively cheap young fun atmosphere. Reminds me of my first brooklyn apartment but a lot cheaper. Not a bad place to stay rooms are warm right now it's cold out. Waters hot. No evidence of bed bugs no mold. The place is old they're trying. It's quirky, squeaky, the walls are thin, everyone will hear you creep in at 3am drunk up 4 flights of wood stairs. We stayed on the 4th floor.
I give it four stars for price and a fun night in Montreal stayed many worse places around the world. I would stay here again when I pass through.
