| - Beautiful venue, but inexcusable, sloppy mistakes with their food. I would have only given 1 star if they didn't do the right thing, which was comp our meal.
My husband and I went out for dinner on Christmas Day. I spent a lot of time researching places that were open. We didn't want a buffet, but we would have been better off at Denny's.
First, they sat us outside as it was a beautiful day. The fire was crackling, it was wonderful, except that our table was right next to where all the service staff hung out, so we could hear them talking. Much more desirable tables were all around us and empty during the entire 2 hours we were there.
Second, our onion soup was brought out lukewarm. When we find someone to bring us another, I don't get a soup spoon and no one offers ground pepper.
Third, the main course: my turkey and mashed potatoes are lukewarm and my husband's filet is well-done! They take both plates back and start over. It's fixed -- although I swear the mashed potatoes are right out of a box.
Fourth, I order pecan tart, and it tastes like something brought in from the frozen food section of Safeway. It doesn't taste like anything I'd serve at home.
All this for $70 per person + taxes and tip! I would never go back to that restaurant. It's a shame because it's so pretty, but it's beauty is just skin deep.
