| - Since I work from home full-time, I am often on the lookout for cafes, bars and restaurants that are reasonably quiet and have a variety of seating options (with outlets to plug the laptop and phone in!). Michelangelo's off State Street has fit the bill for me on Thursday mornings. The front of the cafe (State Street entrance) is usually pretty crowded when it comes to seating, but if you go to the back of the café, there are many more seating options. I've also noticed that it tends to be quieter with many other "work-from-home" types like me are busy typing away or talking with hushed voices on our cell phones.
By the time I get over here, I'm usually on cup 2 or 3 of morning coffee.. so to avoid the onset of coffee jitters, I usually have their decaf. Since I'm not sure if there's such a thing as a "great cup of decaf coffee", I don't want to be unfair in judging the coffee.. but as far as decaf goes, it's decent.
I receive nods and smiles aplenty from the people behind the counter here. They always seem busy doing stuff, and are upbeat. This morning the gal kinda sang my "medium decaf" order as she handed me my coffee.. which I admit, frightened and startled me at first, but then decided she was being fun and charming.
