| - Dr Lavengco at Town Center referred us here so Styxx could have laser therapy for IVDD in his neck. Met with Dr McDermott who is really very nice & answered all my questions about the treatment. Victoria performed the treatment on Styxx and she was very nice, too. You definitely want to buy these in packages because they're cheaper; individual visits are $45.
The 2 times we've been here both myself and Styxx returned home with another dog attached to us. The rooms are overflowing with pet hair: on the floor & seats. If a stylist can clean up hair after each client, why can't vet offices clean up dog hair after each client?? The pet hair was visible & in large quantities; I couldn't sit because the seat was covered in it. Yes I know hair will be in the room; the accumulation in each room was excessive. All you saw were large clumps & mounds of long, white, stringy fur...everywhere.
15 minute hold times on the phone are unacceptable as well. Someone should be dedicated to answering phones, not the girls at the desk whose job is to check patients in/out & answer phones at the same time.
There appears to be some miscommunication amongst staff about when one should come in for laser therapy. I was told to bring Styxx in every other say for treatment as someone licensed is always there to administer it; I called Monday afternoon about bringing him in for treatment when I got off work at 3:30 and was told I may need to wait a long time because of appointments. I wasn't offered one so I asked for an appointment and was scheduled for 6:30. I left Green Valley at 5:15 to get to this appointment and battled my way through 2 accidents on the 215. I called to let them know we were on our way and would be late due to traffic & arrived at 6:35. After waiting for 15 minutes just to check in (the front desk gurl was on the phone & I was next in line) & holding a 22lb injured dog we were finally taken to a room. Dr Caudle then made a point to tell me to get there before 6pm and left the room with Styxx. So I am given a hard time for accepting an appointment the front desk gave me? That's a conversation to be held with staff, not patients. And I don't like Styxx being taken away from me, especially when I was told initially treatment would be performed in the room. Styxx was scared, in pain, and wanted his Mom and I wanted to be there with him to comfort him and keep him calm, and unlike our first treatment where I was able to do so, I wasn't allowed to this time. I asked Dr Caudle where he was taking Styxx and was told treatments are done in the back because it's easier.
These housekeeping issues aside, I have been pleased with my experience here thus far. Styxx is responding well to the prescribed treatment and everyone has been pleasant, helpful & informative.
