Decent hotel close to the YYZ airport but somewhat dated rooms. The lobby area is nicely modern and comfortable with lots of seating areas, but the rooms themselves need refurbishing. My shower had a low-flow shower-head and though I laud the efforts to be green, this one was too low and no flow. The bedroom nevertheless was comfortable and was sound-proofed enough to mute most of the air traffic noises. The Marriott Club Lounge was relocated from the 8th floor to the lobby floor near the restaurant area and although the new lounge is attractive, its logistics are a bit clunky. You have to have a card key programmed for the club (to keep out the riff-raff of course) and while coffee and juice are available inside the club, the food items are located outside the club. Thus, one has to juggle a plateful of food and utensils while fumbling for your room card to re-enter the club (and heaven forbid, you left your room card inside the club to begin with!). The fitness room and pool are well-kitted out with ellipticals, bicycles, and treadmills, a cable weight station, and dumbbells up to 50 lbs.
The in-lobby restaurant Bistro West by East is excellent and a cut above the typical Marriott hotel restaurant menu.
