  • Check in was seamless, and it was a beautiful hotel. I had 1200 dollars taken from my room while I was out sightseeing. I involved the manager in duty "Becky Gale" She was very kind and Apologetic. She told me the hotel would get to the bottom of what happened. She offered me a comped meal in the Oak room. Which was amazing. It was NOT 1200 dollars amazing. But it was a nice gesture. Ms Gale did inform me that sh was going to involve her General Manager who was staying in the hotel. Ms Gale recommended I call the Calgary police and file a report. I did. They didn't arrive until 130 in the morning. So I was exhausted the next morning. And never once did the General Manager reach out to me. He had time accompany his family to the pool area however. After reading review from other sites, I'm wowndering if it's because I am a gay man? Even if that isn't the reason, why was I not important enough to have the General Manager reach out to me? Ms Gale was wonderful, but this should have been handled by the person at the top. What if that was my only money I had with me? He didn't care at all. Then to add insult to injury, I was still charged 80 dollars for parking. I would have thought the parking would have been comped as well. It left a horrible taste in my mouth and this has ended my relationship with the Fairmont corporation. I was set to stay at another Fairmont property in the mountains, but after this horrible experience I cancelled. I had to scramble to find another hotel last minute. BEWARE if you stay at this hotel. Don't leave cash or valuables in your room. They may no be here when you return. I'm very disappointed. I have been staying at Fairmont properties for a long time. NEVER AGAIN.
