I went there for breakfast with my husband yesterday and I must say that St. Lawrence Market is grossly over-rated. It's way over-priced for what you get. Especially in view of the fact that a lot of great restaurants have opened up in Toronto over the years, St. Lawrence Market pales in comparison. If visiting Toronto, I would NOT spend too much time there. It's like going to your local farmer's market. I would rather check out some of the restaurants in Toronto, even for breakfast.
I had a spinach feta bagel at St. Urbaine's and it tasted like it had been re-heated from the day before and it was a bit burnt. I expect more from a place that claims to be the best food in Toronto. I also had a pecan tart at Future bakery and it was gross. There was no butter in the crust that's for sure. I threw it to the birds to eat.
