Chagrin Falls is just the cutest town. There is something for everyone there and having The Glass Asylum right next to a restaurant was a huge perk. I went here for a women's co-worker outing. There was 12 of us and the place fit us perfectly.
The staff and artists were wonderful. Bryan and Kedan were just as much personable as informational. Their assistants Allie and (I forgot the others girl name, sorry!) were also talkative and put you at ease. You can tell they take pride in the work and also want you to have a great experience. Through each step they informed you and guided you along. The sales associate at the counter was also very friendly and made sure we had everything we needed.
The space was absolutely gorgeous. Clean, large and decorated perfectly. Samples of the artists work were displayed throughout the space available for purchase as well as to be admired. Backlit shelves really highlighted the colors in each piece of glass.
The actual glass blowing fell a little short. I did understand there was quite a lot of us but I was hoping to have some more hands on interaction. We only got to touch the pole a few times. The most cost effective item to make is $50 and It literally only took 10mins tops. We didn't get to gather the glass or fire it more than once. We did get to blow (made an ornament) and that was cool.
We also opted to have dinner afterwards and we decided to do it in the studio which was a mistake. It was so hot (obviously) and we were all sweating eating dinner. Maybe a separate room for dinner would be better.
All in all I had a good experience and enjoyed the time I spent with my friends and co-workers. But not sure I would do it again at this location.
