I read a bunch of reviews about people complaining about getting tickets. All these people complaining that the CHPD are just concerned about ticketing cars need to either read signs, put coins in a meter or get a permit. I lived in an apartment for a year that required a permit and yes I got a ticket once by mistake. I took it down to the station and they waved the ticket on the spot... not hard folks. If you don't want a ticket don't break a traffic law!
The CHPD do their job, they police the community and try to keep peace to the best of their ability. I haven't had a negative interaction with them in the 5 years I have lived here. I regularly take walks throughout the city and they often wave or give a sign of acknowledgement, even if they don't know me. When a serious crime happens (which is pretty rare) they make an arrest quickly with probable cause. I work in the county jail and let me tell you, the people that come in from Cleveland Hts. aren't there an trumped up charges. I live on a street with 3 officers and to my understanding all the officers for the CHPD live in the city limits, which makes a HUGE difference in how policing takes place. When you call 911 you get a quick response and often get multiple cars. I take personal responsibility for my safety (as should everyone) but it helps to know that the CHPD is also there to assist in keeping the community safe.
