  • I have taken my car here 5 times, including today's visit! The first 3 times were for oil changes. Seemed easy enough and the oil never was a problem in this car... Until now. Last week the oil light started coming on randomly with beeping and flashing. The oil was low, which had never happened before. My husband put some oil in and the beeping and flashing got worse. We had the oil changed at Mak Auto in April. We thought that was strange being low with such a current change being done and since they were the ones that had been doing our oil changes decided to have them take a look. Called them up and told them exactly what I just previously wrote and brought it in the next day which was last Thursday. They spent about a half hour running codes and checking it out (so I thought) and told me it was just a faulty sensor and it would only be $83 to fix. My husband and I were relieved (at that moment, there's more!) to hear it wasn't something more costly. Our car is a Volkswagen so everything is expensive! Then he had to put more coolant in and the cap was broken so they replaced that for another $13. Fine. Took their word for it that that was all that was wrong, paid for it, drove away. The next day I'm driving and oil light and accompanied beeping are back. I called them right away and they said to bring it back. I bring it back in today, Monday. They look at it for A LOT longer than they did the first time! Matt, the supposed owner/ fakest nice guy ever, came back to tell me a whole array of problems that it could be. Between oil blockages, and a bad/damaged pump. Ranging from $400- $1000+, and explaining to me how this is the result of not putting quantity oil in the vehicle. The car takes synthetic oil. I am not a mechanic. I rely on a professional to tell me what my car needs to run properly. They are the ones that put in the "bad" quality oil in my car the previous 3 oil changes. Never ONCE told me I needed special quality oil, or even gave me an option. I always just made sure they knew it was synthetic. I proceeded to tell him this along with why this wasn't mentioned the first time the car was looked at. He had no valid answers to my questions. That I went along with getting the sensor fixed and rightfully paid for it. I only paid for it because I was told that that was the problem and trusted that was all it needed. He would not give me a refund and would not take responsibility of this happening due to the oil changes with poor quality oil in his shop. I'm very un happy with the lack of responsibility this shop had for my vehicle. I will be seeking further action on this!
