| - 4.5 stars but I give them the roundup since I can't give 4.5. Come on Yelp!
Been here a few times in the last couple of weeks after trying it for the first time. I have never once been in any kind of line waiting to order, so I am not sure why some people complain about the wait or lines. Never has there been even 1 person waiting in front of me. I have had numerous burgers here, including the plain jane, which is just a little burger with ketchup, to their more esoteric varieties. They have a mystery slider every day which is a special, usually more upscale slider. Among those has been the proscuitto, mozzarella and pineapple slider, and the chicken, pineapple teriyaki slider. Both of those were delicious. They also have a very tasty bbq slider called the Barby, with crispy onions and a good bbq sauce. Also, one of the most important parts for me...they have pellet ice. In the ice machine, they offer the pellet or nugget ice, like at Sonic or Cafe Rio, which for me MAKES the drink. Some people would not get it, but there are definitely others who know what I am talking about. A star for that alone.
The staff and service are always super friendly and nice. I know someone mentioned that they treat you like you are special but you aren't, but to me that is not really what its about. They are friendly and welcoming and act like they appreciate your business and your spending your money there. That is all I want from a business. I am not looking for some kind of sincere bond of friendship.
The place is a little loud and it is definitely hipster with the Buddy Holly glasses and sometimes obnoxious music choices, but it is not THAT bad.
Now, onto price. I know some people complain that it is SOOOO expensive. Well, the sliders are a decent size. I personally usually eat a 1lb burger plus fries at Fuddruckers, and here I usually get 4 sliders and some fries. When my wife and I came here for dinner one night, we had 6 sliders, 2 orders of fries and drinks and it was about $28. Now, for me, in the context of my wife and I both eating dinner and leaving full and satisfied for $28, I am pretty happy. I mean, you COULD go to "Uncle Carl" and buy a million cheap nasty burgers with the coupons from your mailbox, but why would you? I mean, you can hardly say some cheap processed fast food burger is the same as a burger topped with a big slice of proscuitto, mozzarella and balsamic dressing? I mean, how much should that cost? 20 cents? $15 bucks each for a filling dinner is good for me. Also, its not like getting 1 normal burger is the same as getting 3 or 4 completely different ones with tastes like chicken and pineapple, and bbq pork, greek feta pork tacos, etc etc. There has to be some kind of price premium for that. Now, I agree the Plain Jane could be a bit cheaper (it IS just a patty, ketchup and bun for $2.50), but overall I think it is a decent value, if not only slightly overpriced.
Overall, I like the place. The burgers have always been tasty, I have never had a stale bun, and I never have a slider where the meat inside is so small that I get only bun in every bite. As I said, it could be a LITTLE cheaper, it could be a little less hipster and they could turn down the sometimes terrible music a bit, but the food has been very good each time I go, the service is super friendly and they have a large variety of sliders, so I am happy.
