| - Was here for the Manufacturers South Convention back in the spring this year. Stayed 2 nights. The biggest reason for selecting the hotel was the fact it is directly beside the convention center. And upon arrival, it was clear this was the typical Westin experience.
This is a really fine hotel.
Upon arrival, the head bellman was actually better than some bellmen at other Westins I have stayed in, and the staff professionalism continued to the check-in staff. So that was a little surprise. The Westins near ORD, SFO, and DFW are not quite as polished in my opinion (but still good).
Had a room with a view of the city center. Which was good, because this hotel sits just on the edge of downtown and just across the interstate in the other direction are strip clubs (so the quality of community drops of pretty quick). But toward the city it is fairly close to good dining and nightlife. No need to bother with a car unless you're headed out to get in a round of golf.
Parking fee was a bit steep, $25 per day for valet. I think I recall $18 for self parking. I actually ended up getting billed for both, but called and they took care of it.
Very nice in hotel dining and bar, as would be expected. The bar is quite open to the lobby lounge with high ceiling. And the bar staff are very easy on the eyes. Additionally, the property is fairly new, so art and architecture feel very modern. Rooms are nicely appointed and exceptionally comfortable.
I'm quite sure that when back in Charlotte I will stay here again.
