It is Sunday afternoon, and I walked in to Café Plume today to see the following: a group of people huddled like sardines on stools next to a window with their laptops, and the rest of the place quite empty. The other thing that drew my attention were these abnoxious signs with a laptop forbidden sign, the kind of thing you might see at a security checkpoint at the airport. So I ask what turns out to be one of the owners about the meaning of it, and he confirmed that it is true, they actually police people with laptops to sit huddled at the window, forbidding them from drinking their coffees at one of the tables in their cafe. I couldn't quite believe this. I can't quite believe that the owners of this place actually think they can treat their customers in this rude way. This place is an epic fail.
