I'm amazed at some of the restaurants that opened up in Airdrie in the last few years as the city continues to grow along with good food. Taj Indian is one that I'd go back to when I'm up there.
Came here for lunch and had a Thali 2 (Beef) which comes with garlic naan, lentils, saffron rice, pakora, rice pudding, and a little bit of vegetables. I thought the price was a little high for lunch ($14) but once the food came out, I knew I wouldn't be able to finish it. There was a lot of food!
The garlic naan was one of the best I've had as it was very garlicky. Not too chewy either. The beef was tender, sweet, and spicy, although I would've preferred a little bit more spice. I thought they were generous with the beef compared to other Indian restaurants I've been to. The pakora was not oily. I enjoyed it along with the lentils and saffron rice. Vegetables were pretty plain. I had a little bit of the rice pudding and it wasn't too sweet. It tasted good but I didn't have much of it because I don't like to have too much coconut milk.
See you next time Taj!
