  • I've been going here for about 2 years for brunch on a semi-regular basis and have been here in the evening for pints after work too, but last night we went for dinner and i realized damn - I need to write a review! I want to start by saying that the service is always, unequivocally, incredibly gracious. Unlike other irish pubs/sportsbar hybrids in the city, I dont get flat out ignored or under-serviced for being a woman, the gorgeous servers are as warm and friendly with my as they are with my partner. I know this seems like a silly thing to mention, but seriously, it makes all the difference. Now on to the food - brunch is all ding dang incredible. I've had so much on the menu I don't know if itd hold value to itemize a review of all i eat, but the hashbrowns are divine, and everything is very reasonably portioned, always hot, always perfect. They also make a killer caesar, so there's always that :) what prompted me to write this, though, was my dinner last night. I ordered a side caesar salad with the ahi tuna, and it's basically the size of a regular meal. The tuna was seared to perfection and the caesar was refershingly, not drowning in dressing. Even more impressive than that, though, something that quite a few places screw the pooch on, was their Irish-style curry. Irish style curry is nothing like indian/pakistani curry, or english curry, or even dutch-style curry. it's kiiinda got a hint of that japanese curry undertones, but is a little more hearty. My partner is Irish, and he was absolutely raving about how nice it was to find a place that does it right. He conceded it had a bit more kick to it than at home, but not so much that he couldnt enjoy it (and he can't even eat spicy potato chips haha, so it really was just a pleasant bite). Also, SUPER fast service, goes for brunch as well as last night. when we left the bartender who we hadn't even interacted with, bid us goodbye, despite the place being packed (on a monday night, mind you, they stay busy for a reason!). whatever point being this place is amazing, the staff is kind and courteous, and the food is quick, hot, and totally delicious. thanks st. james :)
