The zoo is great in general, but I'm writing this review specifically about the Red Panda Encounter (to do this, you have to make a special reservation and pay extra. I believe it cost $300 for a group of up to 6, but we got a significant discount for being zoo members). During the encounter, you get to talk to Ray, the red panda's keeper and learn so many interesting things about how the habitat was constructed. I felt like I really understood what working at a zoo is like after talking to Ray. You also get to spend time in the habitat with the red panda! Xia is the sweetest and I was surprised that having six people hanging out in her habitat didn't seem to bother her in the slightest. She willingly got really close to us and I got to take some amazing photos. Ray, the keeper, was also super generous with his time and a really nice person to talk to. It does cost a bit of money, but divided by 6 people, it's not so much and it was really worth the money.
