For an international operation like Las Vegas, I kind of expect a bit more from my hometown hub.
Terminal 3 has an international part on one side and a domestic part on the other side. I use Terminal 3 for my international arrivals and departures a few times a year and can only speak to the international part.
I cannot say that TSA is particularly speedy/efficient beyond any other TSA checkpoint. I cannot say the food venues are particular better than Terminal 1 in McCarran or any other airport. I also cannot say that even though there are few slot machines sprinkled about, that they provide any elevated airport experience beyond average.
In particular, I feel McCarran's international terminal is very "English" driven. With heightened visitors coming from around the globe, I would like it to feel more welcoming outside English to reflect the 21st century global world. The airport needs to have more verbage in Chinese and Spanish... and I personally don't speak either! These guests are coming here and dumping money into our economy, lets make them welcomed with putting more signage in their native tongue to reflect that we are glad they are here.
So there are some improvements to be made for sure to be welcoming to visitors from all over the planet to better reflect the global spirit of Las Vegas. So I will stay tuned for what might be yet to come.
