I have stayed at this hotel a lot (easily over 50 nights) and it's unfortunately time to update my review. This used to be a truly great hotel, but it has been going downhill the last few years. Specific points:
1) Give yourself at least 10 minutes to get to your room or from room to lobby during peak periods. They are refurbishing the elevators and only 1 or 2 are in service at any given time. The refurbishment will take months (if not longer) to complete.
2) Maintenance issues in the rooms - out of say the last 10 stays at the hotel, probably 8-9 of the rooms had some sort of maintenance item that should have been fixed. Missing TV remote, TV not working at all, loose bathroom fixtures, etc.
3) Service has gone down. Used to provide evening turn-down service / no longer. The computer system must not track frequency of guest stays because I rarely get a nicer room (which I should given how often I stay at this hotel).
I have been Marriott loyal, but it maybe time to give the Fairmont in Pittsburgh a try. I know the level of service will be better there.
