AHS.... "you get what you pay for!" Coming from One Guard (which is like shopping at Nordstroms) and then switching to AHS (is like shopping at Kmart). Night and day difference. I should have done more research first before switching to AHS. AHS is the company that gives Home Warranty Companies a bad name. They say no contracts....but if you try to cancel (this is my 4th month) they charge you an administrative fee which is one-month of service to leave them before one year! I was nervous switching from One Guard after 5 years (to save some money), I originally thought I would try AHS for a few months and if it was horrible then I switch back because there was no contract.
The customer service is atrocious. Don't call to put in your request....because its only automated. The first time they had someone come out- was to fix my garage door (sorry, we don't cover springs) $300 plus the service fee of $75 later. The repair man even said One Guard is the best and AHS is the worst for coverage. Now our pool pump is broke. This first company did not call (so I called them 26 hrs later) Sorry....we can't come out until next week (7 days later). So AHS gave me a new vendor/pool company. After setting that appointment with them I read the reviews on YELP- Oh no.... PLO POOLS! They are horrible. all the reviews on here says "don't let them work on your pool!" I already can tell you they won't be covering the pump... it will be a miracle if they do! By the way in the last 2 years w/ One Guard, they covered/paid for a new Washer, Dishwasher, Water heater, Ceiling fan and fixed our garage door and numerous other things without any grief. It was so easy with them... and it's always a live, educated and pleasant person..and the quality of contractors they use are a lot better! I would highly recommend One Guard...I will be switching back even if I have to pay to get out from under AHS!
