  • This garden is absolutely gorgeous and I'm glad I spent a couple of hours here during my last visit to Phoenix. Parking is ample and organized and the location is great. They're located next to the Phoenix Zoo and the popular Papago Park. The entrance fee isn't too bad and they offer a discount for both students and seniors. Use of space? Great. Landscaping? Amazing. Customer Service? Awesome. I enjoy botany and the great outdoors but after visiting the Desert Botanical Garden, I have an even greater appreciation. They have a ton of cacti and it was my first time seeing a ton of different types. The garden is huge and they sectioned everything out perfectly. For instance, they have a "Night-Blooming Garden" that has a bunch of plants that bloom at night to attract nighttime pollinators and also a "Garden for your senses" section which provide a space to relax, meditate and rejuvenate. The fragrance of flowers and herbs can sooth the spirit. A few other sections they have are the Berlin Agave Yucca Forest and a Desert Terrace Garden. The garden is both upbeat and peaceful at the same time. In the central part of the garden, there was festive Mexican music playing and in other sections of the garden, there was a lot of space to sit and relax in the peace and quiet. So essentially, there are places in the garden for families to have fun and let out some energy and there were also a ton of places I spotted with benches and sitting areas that would be perfect to study or read a book at. If that weren't enough, they have some vendors there that were selling a variety of items. My favorite was the Paletas by Betty. Travelling can be stressful and if you're like me-it takes me a couple of days to unwind to get into the actual vacation mode, the Desert Botanical Garden would be the perfect place to unwind and discover Arizona's beautiful plants at the same time. This is one of the perfect spots in Phoenix to enjoy the beautiful Arizona scenery.
