Sigh my love for one too many English novels might influence this review. I could picture stopping by this inn on a snowy day getting down from a carriage and warming myself with hot food and ale at this pub.
It was reminiscent of an old English pub.
We were seated immediately. The service was good.
I ordered the free house old fashioned - it was delicious. I am no expert on Old Fashioned's.. in fact, this was my first taste of this cocktail and I really liked it.
We got jalapeño poppers and chips salsa and guacamole for apps. The jalapeño poppers were hot and fresh out of the oven. Loved that it was not breaded.. has a slight kick to it. The chips salsa and guacamole in hindsight may not be a good choice at a pub. It was ok. Chips were too thick/hard, salsa was good but guacamole was alright.
We split a pesto sandwich with fries. The sandwich was very good. I loved the bread it was made on. The fries were also crispy and hot (just from the fryer).
The total bill for 2 drinks, 2 apps and 1 entree was $35. WHAT?!?
Oh and if you are a whiskey connoisseur they have an entire page dedicated to different types of whiskeys that they carry.
