| - Gotta agree with Andrew S on this one - I despise going to the dentist. The sound of the drill, the smell of all the chemicals, the dread of knowing that they will most likely tell you things you don't want to hear about fillings, and cavities, and.....
So, now that you know my feelings on the dentistry practice as a whole, let me tell you about Dr. Wiitala and his office staff. We moved to the Phoenix area in May and I knew that I needed to find a new dentist office and take care of a tooth that has been bothering me. We all put off going to the dentist, right? I opted on trying out Dr. Wiitala's office since they were covered by my company insurance and they had a 5 star review here on Yelp...what dentist gets 5 stars?
I went in for a cleaning, x-rays and a consultation and I coudn't believe how nice everyone was - from Tiffany at the front desk to the hygenist and even Dr. Wiitala himself. I'm pretty used to the standoffish Dr. that comes in for five minutes and tells you the issues and moves on. Not here. Dr. Wiitala took the time to explain everything to me and made sure that I understood his reasoning for his recommendations, he asked me questions and made me feel like he really cared.
I have been back to his office to get a filling repaired that had broken from a previous aged filling done when I was young and everyone was the same as the first visit. He even remembered things we discussed on my first visit and asked about them when I returned. The filling took less than an hour and every step of the way he and the assistant explained what they were doing and warned about any slight discomforts I may feel so I was ready in advance.
Getting a filling, or any other dental work, is never necessarily pleasant, but when you have a kind, caring Dr. and staff to walk you through the process, it can only make things easier!
Overall: A+
If you are looking for a dentist, or should be looking for a dentist and have been putting off the dreaded deed, go here!
