  • Heard of Kids Quest Red Rock location through a friend. I had a gift certificate for a massage at the spa and thought I'd see how my two kids would fare being dropped off at an unfamiliar place. From what I've heard, Kids Quest is fully supervised, provides food items for the kids from a menu at a price set by the parents and has different play areas depending on age. We arrived at noon on a very quiet weekday, upon arrival I could see about five kids were already there and one other staff member amongst them. The place was brightly lit and clean. The kids were required to wear socks and take off their shoes at the entrance before being let through the double gates on the side of the check in desk. I filled out paperwork and gave them their shot records. Thought it was great they gave the kids a meal if requested, so after picking out menu items they might enjoy I was asked twice what time they should be given their meal. They printed out two bar code stickers and stuck them on the kids shirts before they ran off excitedly. Two hours later, returned to pick up my kids, the place was still pretty empty. When I walked up to the desk, the first thing I saw was my youngest being yelled at by a much older kid (about six or seven) who was seated at the counter with food. My youngest who is only two was clearly scared and kept his distance from the older boy. I found it even more odd that the older kid was yelling at my two year old "GO AWAY, THIS IS MY FOOD!!" I didn't understand what was going on and tried to call out to him; he couldn't hear me (probably because the kid wouldn't stop yelling at him) then I spotted my daughter playing in the back area but I didn't see anyone supervising any of the kids. Finally someone came out of a side door and called the kids to the desk via a loud microphone. The kids came running when they saw me but were kept behind the gate until I paid! The price was $8 for each kid per hour, price was steep but I thought it was worth it if the kids had some fun. When we got to the car I noticed my son's shirt was wet down one whole side and when I asked what happened, they told me he had tried to get a drink by himself from a water fountain in the play area. When he got into his seat he made a grab for his sippy cup and to my surprise sucked it down alarmingly fast! I asked them what they ate for lunch and my oldest replied, "Nothing, we didn't eat anything." I was shocked! Is this why my little son was staring at a kid eating his food and was almost dehydrated?? If this was true, it would mean they hadn't had anything to eat or drink since breakfast- a good five hours earlier!!! I called Kids Quest immediately, the staff member who answered was apologetic after discovering my request in the system had not been carried out and even though I had not been charged for any food, she offered one comp meal for the next visit... Needless to say, our first visit may be our last. Free meal or not. I'm very disappointed by the fact it was almost empty with very few kids, and yet somehow the staff were not supervising or even taking care of the basics, like food! I wonder if they didn't have a drinking fountain on site, would my kids be given anything to drink at all?!
