Oh-kay.
So I feel bad for giving what is obviously a small business, run by maybe one or two people, one star. It's hard to run a business, and it's hard to be everything for one business - I get it. And I want to help out small businesses in this economy of the massive corporation.
But I *hate* when people try to upsell me.
I went in a few weeks ago looking for one or two *very* specific things. I found a bunch of them, and then asked the woman at the counter about what type of moisturizer she would recommend (because I was looking for something new). She responded by asking me how I wash my face. I told her, and she proceeded to try to sell me a makeup remover and a facial cleanser.
Are you kidding me?
After 10 minutes of her babbling, I once again asked about a moisturizer. She showed me a few, walked away for a few seconds. I had only literally 60 seconds of silence to ponder the difference between each product before she asked me if I was taking any multivitamins. I told her I prefer to get my vitamins from the foods I eat (I recently had a blood test and all my vitamin levels are badass, thank you very much), and she tried to sell me this spiel about how the best way to get vitamins is through a multivitamin. That's when I stopped responding.
If it wasn't a late night and if there wasn't nothing else open and if I really didn't need a moisturizer I would have just dropped everything and walked out. I won't be going back. SERIOUSLY. Don't fucking upsell me. I thought that was like rule #1 of marketing?
