  • So, I returned to this salon. My son is 3 years old, and has the same unique hair texture as me, I couldn't imagine letting anyone other than Matt near it with scissors. After checking to make sure they allowed children, and thrilled to see that my son's cut would be only $15.00, I made an appointment - a same-day appointment on a Friday and they were pretty slammed. Matt took one look at my son, with his tightly coiled curls, and I'm pretty sure he considered turning us away because he wasn't sure if he could get it done in the time he had. Nevertheless he came over and asked what we wanted to do. I explained that his hair, though it looks like it's up to the nape of his neck, actually falls to his mid-back and we wanted to cut the bottom right off and blend it up the sides without cutting the top at all. He brought us to the back, gave my son a little booster to sit on and went to work. When I washed and styled my son's hair myself, I did notice a wisp or two didn't match up so I snipped them myself, but still, Matt did an exceptional job! It took me 20 minutes to get my own child still enough to get to those little wisps and clip them and I was all frustrated by the end of it. Matt got everything done in about 15 minutes and was friendly and easy-going the whole time. It isn't a children's salon, and my son can be really squirmy. It's quite nerve wracking to have him squirming so close to a pair of razor-sharp shears. Matt was quick and confident and did an amazing job, regardless. I honestly had to tear myself away from staring at my gorgeous baby to write this review. It's FANTASTIC! We won't have to cut it again for hopefully around 6 months and by then, he should be able to sit still and not squirm so much - it's already difficult enough to work with hair like ours without the added squirming. I just can't believe how fantastic he looks, I'm pretty sure my son is getting creeped out cause I just can't stop staring at him! Matt is the ONLY person who will touch our family's hair from now on!
