Sigh...
Once upon a time, I really loved Criss Angel and his Mindfreak television program. When I learned he was collaborating with Cirque Du Soleil for a show in Vegas a couple of years ago, I got really excited.
We go to Vegas often and never go to shows because they are so expensive and we would rather spend our money on different extracurricular activities, but we learned about the half price ticket stands and started there. We woke up super early in the morning and waited in line for the tickets with a handful of other deal-seekers. It took about 45 minutes to an hour to finally make the purchase, but we were pumped about saving a few bucks.
We scored pretty decent ticket prices for this show (or so I believed at the time- around $60 apiece) and headed out for the evening. The drinks the bar in the lobby made were pricey, but good, and the idea of getting a little tipsy and watching magic seemed...well, magical.
The show started out slow, but we were patient. A couple of times there were delays and the curtain came down and we couldn't tell if it was part of the show or an actual technical difficulty. It was odd.
Most of the show was Criss talking about how f*cking awesome he is and it was really pretty sad.
Save your money and invest in seeing a real Cirque Du Soleil show.
