| - I was a first time home buyer so I had to really trust the agent to take care of the little things, like knowing how to remove my lockbox, retrieve my mail(2 weeks & late fees until I hunted it down, as I wasnt given my mail key). Now, leading up to the sale, she (Melissa) was very easy to get a hold of, but as soon as the checks went through, crickets.
Also, I show up to the "inspection", & recognize him as he's her ex or current boyfriend. K. I was concerned about a water stain/mold damage coming through the bedroom ceiling, & although I never saw a ladder, he assured me it was due to condensation from the ac line. Yeah, no. Later, when it started RAINING onto my bed, I called in an a.c. guy, who upon using a LADDER & climbing into the attic, sees that a water pipe valve/connection was just pouring out water onto the insulation and finally thru the ceiling. All he did was put its cap on.This wouldve been great to know from the INSPECTOR, had he made the effort to investigate my concern, by actually looking, not just guessing/minimizing it since the sale is all in the family.
All in all a lazy, and ultimately vacant experience. I had squatters coming to check my door as the lockbox was a mystery to Melissa and remained there for 3 months. I had a mailman assume the home was vacant after seeing the lockbox, & just throw my dish set over the fence, true story! By the way, this same a.c. guy said the lockbox had an inner release button, we entered the code, & viola. If anyone is looking to buy a house, I can pass along my a.c. guys #, as his routine knowledge put this real estate/inspector team to shame. Keep looking.
