| - Alright people, listen up! If you shop at the big box grocery stores regularly then you need to STOP right now. Aldi's is the best store for fresh produce, dairy, baking products, snacks, frozen veggies and bread! I shop there once a week for my family of 6 and my average spending is under $100.00. Their snacks are on par with all the big name brands and I am a bit of a snob when it comes to no name brands. The same goes for their breakfast cereals, my only complaint would be the size of the cereal packaging.
Milk, butter, whipping cream, eggs, sour cream have all gone way up in price elsewhere but not aldi's. The milk is always $2.49 per gallon or less. The butter is about the same price per pound and is on par with landolakes brand. I have never run across a product that was near its expiration date in their store.
Their loaves of bread are $0.85 to $1.25 and they have a good variety of white, wheat, hamburger, hotdog, ciabatta, baguettes, and much more!
Baking products are super cheap, so if you bake a lot like me then head on in!
Their meat is decent. They have fresh roasting chickens for $0.95 per pound on a regular basis. Ground beef is usually around $3.49 per pound.
Now, I normally stop at IGA for deli items or at Marc's. I buy my fresh beef like chuck roast, top round roasts and pork roasts and chops at IGA because it's cut fresh in the store.
It is worth stopping in. You will watch your weekly grocery bill shrink while you watch your savings account grow! Oh and don't forget to check out their special value items, you will see some great deals on home items, toys, decorating and organizational items too!
One last note, if you ever have a problem with a product they will immediately refund or replace the item with no hassle. I had bought a box of juice drinks that had some missing straws in the package. I mentioned it to the cashier when I was checking out and she credited me the full price of the whole purchase price without me asking for a refund. Good people work there.
