I do travel booking for a fortune 500 company and have never had a worse experience with a hotels management team as I have had with the Days Inn. Calgary was all booked up downtown and all of my usual properties couldn't accommodate as there was a large amount of conventions in town and was the week before Easter. Looking online this seemed like an average choice for a property and the rate was well within our regular expenditure. Checking into the hotel was a nightmare they only had one staff member on duty and about 3-4 people waiting to check in, the elevator was down, the amenities were out of service and the hotel as a whole was just run down. My two staff checked out of the hotel and apong checking out the Days Inn realized that "they had made a mistake with the reservation," they promptly phoned me and I had let them know that we had signed an agreement for length of stay and rate agreed apong but this was unacceptable to them and the individual on the phone not only threatened me personally but promptly hung up on me (A big no no in the hotel industry). Apong escalating the concern to the Assistant General Manager he was absolutely no help and in fact protected the actions of his staff and wouldn't even give me an apology. The Days Inn decided to change the rate and fraudulently charge my Credit Card, I am just lucky MasterCard protected me in this instance.
To summarize, run down hotel, un ethical management team, and no customer service. There are many properties to choose from for your stay in Calgary I wouldn't make this mistake of staying here.
