  • Unfortunately, this place felt short on my high expectations. I had a Restaurant.com $10 certificate that I wanted to use here. I walked in about 10 to 5 and I was immediately greeted and welcomed. My server quickly introduced herself to me and brought me a water. I was surprised that ice wasn't in the glass. So the server told me that they were running a happy hour special and it probably wouldn't make sense to use my certificate because then they would have to charge me full price. Nonetheless, I said, let's see how things play out. I ordered some pizza and wings. The wings arrived fairly quickly and they tasted burnt. I clearly saw grill marks on the wings. I think they put the wings in the deep fryer and then put them on a grill. The server checked back with me pretty quickly. She said that the pizza will be arriving soon. Several minutes later, I watched her bring the pizza towards my table and then she did a 180 and went to the kitchen. A few minutes after that, she came back and apologized to me. She noticed that the pizza was prepared incorrectly and said that they will need to make it again. A free salad was offered. I elected to take the garden salad. The salad consisted of lettuce, tomatoes, and nothing else! The vinaigrette dressing was very good, however. The pizza finally arrived and it was ok, at best. The pizza tasted very thick and the crust wasn't soft like a good New York pizza. The server checked back with me and I watched her refill my drink which was completely watered down already. The server should have brought me a fresh cup of soda instead of adding more soda to a watered down mess! The food runners and bussers were helpful and offered to box up my food as I finished. Finally it was time for the bill. I was shocked that my meal was still over $25 even with the discount. I dined alone and I didn't anticipate that I would be spending over $35 ($10 tip) for pizza and wings. Remember, the salad was provided to me for free. Too bad that I wasn't impressed with this place, I would have loved to find a nice neighborhood pizza joint, but I will stick to North End or Verrazano Pizza. One thing I need to really point out, the staff was extremely friendly.
