Myself and my best friend were directed to this studio by a co-worker after we expressed an interest in finding a good personal trainer in town. For the first part of 2015, we attempted to handle our fitness and nutrition needs on our own, but that really only translated to us lowering our daily caloric intake. In the end, neither of us were really eating any better and neither of us were even doing anything more active.
You don't realize how ignorant you are of the correct way to work out until somebody takes the time to break down each exercise and teach you how to do things correctly. That's where Jill came in. She truly cares for the people that she trains. This is more than the studio collecting our payments and giving us the allotted time that we pay for. She inquires about our meals, she assigns us homework and she regularly checks in on us during our off time. We both received text messages while we were out of town on vacation just to make sure we were doing alright. My body feels stronger, I'm able to do things that I haven't attempted in years and there are certain junkie foods that I used to love that no longer hold any appeal to me anymore.
This doesn't only apply to Jill (the owner), though. I've met a handful of employees through this studio and each one is interested in our story and very encouraging of our journey. The personal training sessions have allowed me to overcome a bit of that social awkwardness I had about publicly exercising and to take more of the group classes that the studio offers. Each one is so challenging, I never leave thinking that I've wasted my time. I've steadily incorporated the classes into my fitness routine and found myself doing more things outside of this studio, like my first 5k. I whole-heartedly have Jill and Arabesque Dance and Fitness Studio to thank for, honestly, changing my life for the better.
