  • Some of my friends really like The Library. I think it is alright, but I'm still a little confused about what all they hype is about. NOTE: I have never been here for the food so take this review as a commentary on the bar scene part of it. What the Library does have going for it is a top notch draft beer selection and a great happy hour where you can get any draft for something like 3 dollars. The happy hour vibe is really good, not too crowded. The bartenders are also knowledgeable about the beers they sell. I don't really like The Library post happy hour. It starts getting really packed and the vibe is kind of confusing. The Library just doesn't seem like place where everyone is packed in. It sometimes feels like that scene in Star Wars where they are getting crushed in the garbage compactor on the Death Star. The music choices often leave a lot to be desired. To sum it up, the Library shines around happy hour times, otherwise it is just like any other South Side bar.
