| - Awful communication between staff, security, and visitors. I admitted my husband for a mental breakdown, They let me stay with him the whole time and then sent me to the lobby and told me they would let me back in after they changed his clothes and got him settled. An hour later I asked security if I could go back, he explained I couldn't because I have a purse. After I explained the situation, he called a nurse and then I was told I couldn't go back because he was asleep and then they told me to wait for a nurse to speak with me. By the time she showed up, I couldn't go back because visiting hours were over.
The next morning I just brought my wallet, phone, keys, and sunglasses.
Again, I had problems with security. I was told I couldn't go back to see him because I had my phone and sunglasses and I was only allowed to have my keys and wallet. I explained I didn't have a vehicle to lock them up in. They told me they don't hold those items at the desk. Again they called the nurse who approved me going back there as long as I put my items in a bag. I put my phone, sunglasses and they asked for my keys and I gave it to them, no problem. They scanned me with a wand and I went through. They second check point, I get scanned again the security snaps at me and says "We don't hold items here!" the nurse explained it was okay. 30 minutes later while visiting security asks "What's in your pocket?" I told him "My wallet." He almost yelling at me says: "You can't have that!!" So I ask security "Why did the E.R say that I could?" A female security guard asks "Who told you that?" I told her "YOU did." because she was in the lobby when I first arrived with another security personal. She denied it. I gave her my wallet and told them they need better communication between staff/visitors. My husband needed an x-ray, he asked the tech if I was allowed to go with him, she said sure, but I'll need to wait outside the door. Once again I get stopped by Mr. Snappy guard and told "Ma'am you need to wait in the lobby." the tech told the guard that she said I could go with them and then the woman behind the desk yells at her "That's not our protocol!" I waited in the lobby to be called back, I stayed with him until they informed us visiting hours were over. Neither one of us were made aware that there was a 2 hour limited for visits beforehand.
Now my biggest complaint, He was being held in the mental ward waiting to be transported. He worked himself up during an outburst into an asthma attack. I ran to the nurse station and informed them he's having asthma attack and he can't breathe. When she came in he was on floor convulsing, breaking out in a sweat, and struggling to breathe and his eyes were rolling back. I told her needed treatment, a nubulizer, an inhaler or something. She told him "Sir, you need to get back on the bed." I was already irritated with the previous situation with security and told her "HE CAN'T!" Can't you see he's having an asthma attack?! Can you get someone?! He can't breathe!" It wasn't treated as an emergency, she just put something on his fingers to check his vitals and by the time it took for a doctor to come check on him he was already coming out of it.
The doctor decided to do an x-ray on his lungs.
He had an asthma attack they day before when I checked him, they gave him a nubulizer and oxygen. The second day, it was like they couldn't care less they just wanted him out of there and transferred.
Unacceptable.
