| - On September 21st I visited this AT&T store with my boyfriend and his mother. The sales rep (Morgan) told them about a promotion that AT&T was offering in which you could trade in an iPhone 6, 6 plus, 6S, or 6S Plus for a free new iPhone 7. My boyfriend and his mother both purchased their new iPhones right there in store as we were told, by Morgan, it was a limited time offer that would be ending on September 30th. I wanted to upgrade my phone as well as soon as I heard about this deal but I am not an authorized account holder. I told the sales rep, Morgan, that I would come back the same day with my father, the account holder, and she assured me that I would have until September 30th to come back with him. After communicating today with AT&T, they notified me that the promotion ended yesterday on the 25th. After calling the sales rep who gave me the false information, Morgan admitted to her mistake and apologized. Unfortunately, her apology does not make up for the damage caused. Now I will not be able to afford the new iPhone 7 at its full price since I missed the date by one day, and it's all because of false promises from an AT&T employee, as well as AT&T's lack of communication with the customers. How many of you ever even heard about this promotion? None of us even heard about it until the sales rep told us (with false dates). Clearly, AT&T does not even communicate with their own employees. She repeatedly assured me that I did not need to rush as I would have until the 30th to come in and upgrade my phone. When I called customer service and explained the situation, they put me on hold for over 25 minutes just to come back and tell me to try to sell my current phone myself so I can buy the iPhone 7 at full price. I am appalled at the way that AT&T treats their customers, and I am extremely disappointed at how they handle their own mistakes. Instead of accepting the fault at their end and taking it out on the employees who have caused this problem, they take it out on the customers. If this is the standard in which AT&T treats their customers and handles their affairs, I would not recommend anyone to do business with AT&T ever again. #AT&TLies
