  • I had my wedding here on 1/2/18. First, the space is just beautiful. Beyond the space, the rest of our experience was either just okay or frustrating. We had a ceremony only, so I'm not sure if that had something to do with the level of service we received. There was little-to-no communication or involvement by the venue after we signed the contract. Around December 21, having not heard from anyone, I finally emailed a bunch of questions to the coordinator. The response was that we needed to have a call that day to go over everything. My husband had the call where the coordinator asked many, many questions and said that she needed the answers by 4:30 that day because they were closing for the holidays (essentially until the day of our wedding). I'm glad I reached out and am curious whether (or when) they would have touched base with me. Everyone was very nice, but the communication was not great. I pulled up to the ceremony not even knowing where I needed to go or how the actual wedding would proceed. I understand not having a formal rehearsal, but a discussion would have been nice. Similar situation with the officiant. We filled out a questionnaire with preferences , which he acknowledged receiving. Then, nothing. Finally, I asked what he was going to say at the wedding and when would we meet him. He emailed me a basic outline that didn't include anything specific to us and said we would meet him a couple of minutes before the wedding. Again, this was not super comforting to me. I didn't need something elaborate, but a little more advance communication and direction would be appreciated. The ceremony itself was beautiful and the officiant was fine, which is what matters at the end of the day. We also used The Grove's preferred vendors because their pricing was the most reasonable we found. Cake Couture was very easy to work with and was fine with communication. Very reasonable pricing and we were happy with the end result. We also used Natures Florist. Again, pricing was comparatively reasonable, but communication was not great. Just a week before the ceremony, the florist emailed me to confirm our order and totally omitted the bouquet and boutonniere from the order - was strange and frustrating in light of our overall experience, but could have just been an oversight. Our centerpieces came out gorgeous. My bouquet was on par with what I wanted, however some of the flowers were wilting from the moment I received it. The Grove also forgot to give the groom his boutonniere until after the ceremony. My bouquet was falling apart and in pretty bad shape by the time we ended up at dinner about 3 hours after the florist handed over the bouquet. It included succulents, which apparently were glued to the rest of the flowers. It didn't hold and a quarter of my bouquet bent over away from the rest of the flowers, which was pretty disappointing for $175. The Grove's photographer, Vegas Lights, did an ok job, though I am glad we hired a second photographer (New Romantix -- they were awesome!). Again, little communication from them as well. When they did communicate, they said we are only going to have about 10 minutes for photos (not sure why, when we had the place booked for an hour...) and made it feel like we were going to have to rush through everything. On the actual day the pacing was fine -- no issue there. Vegas Lights said they'd have our photos within two weeks of our wedding. They were late delivering the photos and I had to follow up with them (again, communication would have been nice). A day or two later the approx. 115 photos came. Not sure why it took so long. New Romantix had over 600 photos to me within 48 hours of the wedding. The actual photos from Vegas Lights were fine, but definitely "standard" type shots. Overall, no significant problems or issues, but I would have given a much higher rating if there was better communication and care with the wedding. It certainly would have given me better peace of mind and lessened my stress.
