  • A segway tour through Pittsburgh is probably the best way to visit this city if you only have a short amount of time. I had a friend coming to Pittsburgh and we decided to do the Downtown Tour. The tour starts at Station Square, where you will be greeted by your tour guide and where you can luckily practice your segway skills for the first 30 min in an obstacle course. Be sure to also arrive a bit earlier, because you do have to fill out a form. Our guide was fantastic. He explained everything very well and was super friendly and fun. Made us laugh and feel at ease all the time. You'll also get an ear piece and I have learned so much about Pittsburgh in 2 hours, it's incredible. Not only dry historic stories, but fun-facts as well! We went to point state park, cruised along the river, saw Heinz Hall and so much more. Especially on a sunny Sunday, it was the perfect thing to do. Operating the Segway is actually fairly easy and after practicing for 30 min at station square I promise, you won't have any troubles. As someone else stated, the first hour or so is a bit slower and you have to watch out more as you cruise through the city with all the traffic and people on the road. But in the second half you can really ride along a bit faster and more freely, which I have really enjoyed. Just don't go too much overboard, these things go fast! :) I have really enjoyed my first tour and I recommend it to anyone coming to Pittsburgh for a couple of days or if you have friends coming, a perfect and fun way to show them the city!
