Visited Pittsburgh for a business trip and since I wanted to watch my first Penguins game while in town I decided to stay here as it is directly cross the street from the PPG Paints Arena. It was a great decision to stay here:
(1) Really convenient to attend the game, especially given that it was raining slightly before and after the game. It would have been a nightmare after the game is over to go to some other hotel that is not in the vicinity. When you are from out of town on a tight schedule you really don't want to have to deal with that.
(2) The concierge lounge is awesome. I had very little free time in town and just wanted to find some decent food in the most convenient way. Had dinner and breakfast in the concierge lounge and the food is pretty good. There were pulled pork sandwiches, fresh vegetables for dinner. Fresh fruits and an omelette bar for breakfast. Staff were very friendly.
(3) The room was spacious. Bed was comfortable. Especially appreciated the good desk since I had to work in my room for a good amount of time.
(4) I paid extra for a city view room and it's very uncertain I got a city view. I thought city would be in the direction of downtown not some industrial complex looking spots. I guess they made up for it by giving me concierge lounge access which I didn't pay for.
Anyways, highly recommend this hotel for the location and concierge lounge.
