  • Cheetahs = worst strip club ever! I'll admit, I'm not a stranger to strip clubs, so I know how things should run. Apparently, Cheetahs does not. It was 7:00pm on a Saturday when I strolled in with a friend. At first glance, the place is actually pretty nice, albeit a bit small. We grabbed a table near the stage, and then stared at an empty stage for a good 7 minutes before a dancer even appeared on it. Thank God for the two flat screens located behind the stage, so at least we could watch the game. And to be honest, the game on the TV was better than the talent dancing on stage. While perusing the club, I noticed that a lot of the dancers were just hanging out together at the bar chatting it up with each other. You'd think they might want to work the room to see if anyone would want a dance and make some money, but no. A while into my time here, some girl comes up and sits on my lap. Trying to understand her was a tough chore, and I honestly think I've had better conversations with my cat. But being a superficial male, she had a rockin' body, so I agreed to a dance. After one and a half songs, we parted ways, and I paid her $20. She then told me it would be another $20. Since this was my first time here, I wasn't aware what dances cost, so I tossed her another $20. Most dances in the valley cost $10 each, so I thought this to be a bit odd. When our server came around to see if we needed a drink (side note: the servers here were gorgeous and very friendly and attentive), I asked her how much dances were. She said $10 each, and I explained to her what just went down. She immediately knew which dancer I was talking about, and she said she'd talk to the manager about it, and even pointed him out to me so I could talk to him too. Two minutes later, the dancer marched up to me and got up in my face, asking "why do I need to be like that" when I mentioned that she overcharged me for a dance. I calmly told her that for the one and a half dances that we had, she charged me $40 instead of $20, and that was not right. She continued to berate me, giving me crap for complaining until I just got up out of my seat and went to the bar to close my tab, since I was going to leave anyways. The manager came up to me and handed me $10 an apologized for what she had done. A nice gesture, but when I explained to him all that went down, and said that in theory I should be getting $20 back for the double charge, he acknowledged that was the case, but said that he could not give me any more back. He offered to buy us another round of drinks, but since we were leaving already I told him no, and he did nothing more. So needless to say, I'm not going to be coming back to the place anytime soon. Even if dragged there at gunpoint, I'd probably object. For the most part, the dancers here were well below average. Aside from my thief, my friend was convinced that the girl sitting on his lap was stoned out of her mind, and after talking with her for a bit I would agree. Across the board, they were not that attractive (2 or 3 exceptions though). While on stage, the performances lacked any energy and they looked like they were hating life while dancing. Beers though were priced well at $5 each (2-for-1 at happy hour), and as mentioned earlier, the servers were stellar. Awesome servers though will not make a club survive, and that's not enough to have me ever come back here again. For those of you in the area of 7th Street and Indian School needing a little strip club action, do yourself a favor and speed past Cheetahs and drive the extra couple of block to the Hi-Liter.
