| - We drove from NYC to pittsburgh and while we had checked in on the app, we were going to be about two hours later than I estimated arrival time, so I called the hotel. 'Don't worry, everything will be fine as long as you check in before 3 am.'
Got to the hotel to check in. The lady at the front desk was super nice and polite (actually, pretty much everyone we met in pittsburgh was super nice and polite). Checked me in, no problem and gave me our warm cookies - my boyfriend's whole reason for wanting to stay at a double tree (why the other hotels in the hilton chain do not do this is beyond me).
The hotel is huge. We stayed in C block (which made me think of a prison). The lady at the front desk started to explain how to get there, before just pulling out a map and drawing it on the map. Our bed. SUPER comfy. It was so hard to get out of it in the morning. The room itself looked updated and was clean. The bathroom looked dated. It was as if they updated the room but forgot the bathroom. However, my boyfriend was super excited they had a bathtub, something a lot of hotels seem to be doing away with when they update their rooms. He loves a bath. So, win for him? In the morning, I heard housekeeping going around, and they actually paid attention to our DND sign and skipped us, but came back and made up the room while we were out.
We unfortunately did not get to check out the pool because 1) we forgot our bathing suits (which never happens) and 2) we just didn't have time.
We enjoyed our stay, and next time we're in pittsburgh, this will be our go to place.
