| - 1 star for the paint job and -4 for the underlying rude comments and condescending tones I received from Katie.
This was my first and last time to visit here. I've been getting my nails done for 17 years and was surprised how she would speak to a customer!
I was warmly greeted by the gentleman who was servicing another customer and he called Kate over to assist me. I needed a gel mani & regular pedi-- super simple. When Katie showed me gel only colors, I explained I wanted to only get my hands done with gel and this is when she changed her tone, instantly making me feel like I was a child.
During the pedi, she pointed out how my nail naturally grows out. After her third attempt to vocalize her discovery, I realized she wanted me to acknowledge this "new discovery" to which I said, "Yes, I know." Thank you? I was never aware about my body and its characteristics. She then asked me to lean over my feet so she could remove my regular paint from my nails! Getting your nails done is a luxury and service should be treated as such. Don't be lazy, wait until it's Mani time and quickly remove my polish -- there shouldn't be a rush with customers, especially when I'm your last one.
The mani was the worst interaction I have ever had at a nail salon. When it was time for the gel to come on, she told me that I had just had acrylics removed. I agreed and explained that I had them for a year and had just removed them. I needed my nails to breathe and that they were weak and sensitive now. When she wanted to sell me on a 'White Diamond' treatment, I told her I don't do much glitter -- the ring finger color I had chosen was enough glitter!! She became seemingly annoyed that I didn't know what that was and explained that EVERYONE knows what that treatment is and rolled her eyes (either to look at the TV or because she was annoyed). I told her that before acrylic, I never did color...to which she responded "Oh..you're boring"....Seriously Kate!? For the record, I had a corporate role to which color was never allowed. Not having colored nails doesn't always show off someone's personality.
Continuing her supercilious attitude, whilst painting she says; Now you know you can't peel this, riiiggghhhttt? Of course I know this..because I have had gel for many years before my 1 year acrylic time. I just couldn't wait for it to be over!
I didn't take away the tip of the service because of her ignorant or arrogant attitude. She still provided the service of a paint job. When I opened the doors to leave..she took one last jab: "Remember, don't peel the gel okaaaayyy?" I looked back with a look on my face like 'Seriously?!' And caught her rolling her eyes this time.
I went to the car, digesting what had just happened. I had to go back in and get her name..to which her attitude went from condescending to presumptuous! She was so eager to write her name on the business card and explained that I would need to make an appointment because she's always booked...but didn't I just walk in?
