| - The only professional part about this business, is the actual Optometrist himself. Everything else is sorely lacking. This is my third time to this office in the last year, and only because this is the only place in town that my insurance allows us to go. Last year I was incorrectly prescribed progressive bifocals. In hindsight, I think it had to do with the huge up scope in price for the lenses. Joke's on them because I ended up buying my glasses and lenses from Costco. Anyhow, I damaged my glasses recently, and it was time for a new exam anyway so back I go. This time I'm upfront that I won't be purchasing my lenses or glasses from them, and what do you know, I don't need bifocals....Anyhow, I get my new prescription and am led out to the front room and I'm told to pick out glasses. Again, I'm not buying glasses from them, I'll use my existing frames. When I ask them if they have lenses in stock, they come back to me with a price of $116. Funny, since my lenses have a $0 copay so I bring the issue up to the manager. She looks over my paperwork and says, yes your lenses are $0 but then goes over all of the upgrades that the doctor says I needed, hence the total. I balked and said that those options should have been presented to me, and I could make the choice. My insurance coverage was never shown to me. Fortunately for me, I know my coverage. I can only imagine how many people are duped in to paying for things they don't need thinking that they have to. To make a long story short, I got my lenses for $0, and used the same frame. Once they realized they were not getting any money from me, the waiting began. It's obvious that the priority for these technicians is to sell the frames and lens upgrades rather than take care of their customers and suit their needs. They had me sit around for nearly 2 hours before they finally got to my glasses in the lab. I was watching the tech the entire time. He finished up his last sale 10 minutes before closing and then went in the back and knocked out my glasses. Why did I have to wait 2 hours for 10 minutes of work? Because they had sales to make. Having an eyeglass maker owning an optometry practice is a clear conflict of interest. When did the business become selling designer frames and lens upgrades instead of treating patients and making sure they could see properly...
