  • Why is there only a 1 star option and not a zero star or negative star rating option? This company deserves a 0 for a rating, at the very minimal. I decided to get a quote for auto and homeowner's insurance back in August. Joel, who was very professional and sounded interested in my business, let me know his rep was going to call me to get my information to run the policy search. That happened, they found a great rate with great coverage through First American Insurance and I went ahead and agreed we would move forward with switching our HOI. I was told that Alliance would follow up with me soon. Note, that first HOI policy with First Am had effective dates of 08/23/17 - 08/23/18. Well, now here we are in October and still nothing. I followed up with Joel (who is apparently a "manager" but clearly isn't doing a very good job) and asked him what was happening. He had almost demeaningly talked down to me telling me "oh no, I'm sure customer service will want to do a conference call to cancel the USAA and then make payment on the new policy." Cool, well we are a month and a half past that date and I was still being given the run around and being asked for payment but then not getting a response, it went on and on. Finally I called First American Insurance myself, they let me know they had received full payment for the whole year and that all they needed was a quick document signed. I told First American Insurance that I was not working with Alliance any longer, not sure if you can "fire" an unorganized and unhelpful broker but I just made it a thing. I'm lucky because I work in mortgage and 100% know homeowner's insurance and all the in's and out's. This was my first attempt at a broker and I will never go with one again. For anybody who isn't as familiar with mortgages or homeowner's insurance, RUN from this company and run fast. I could've been left without any coverage on my home, which obviously could've turned into quite a catastrophe for my family. I'm doing the rest of you guys a favor and letting you know that you should work with someone you trust and KNOWS the business. Customer service is KEY in any good company, this company doesn't have it (neither does the other company the "owner" of this company runs so stay away from that mortgage company as well, scary stuff!).
