The last thing any person wants is to end up in an ER during their vacation, let alone when you're already on your way to catch your flight back home.
I was under a lot of stress because I was running late for my flight and I didn't get enough sleep the night before so my body decided to give up on me.
I was diagnosed with periodic paralysis syndrome back in May 2016. I have had a few reoccurrences, but I was able to keep my potassium under control by drinking some orange juice and taking deep breaths, while trying to remain calm.
Unfortunately, on May 26th, around 9:30 AM, while walking at the North Premium Outlet, I had to call 911 & I was brought here to get medical attention.
This is probably one of the worse ER experiences I've personally experienced. There wasn't enough nurses on duty to check patients in or out. They make everyone sit in the lobby & call you in one at a time to undergo each procedure, i.e. lab tests, EKG, take medications, get discharged, etc.
How can they expect a person who's in an emergency situation to walk back & forth for everything? Don't they have a room for patients to lie down & wait?
I was already feeling weak & light-headed and I'm suppose to be able to act like I'm just here to see a doctor for a normal check-up?
They even overcharged me for my co-pay. It was only supposed to be $75 for ER co-pay, but they charged me $500 as an inpatient. Good thing I called my insurance company to verify if that's correct before leaving so I could ask for my refund.
If you ever need immediate medical assistance when you're in Las Vegas, do yourself a BIG favor and DON'T come here!
