  • Have you ever had buyer's remorse from something you bought on Groupon? Well my friends, I sure have! I am someone who enjoys trying new things. For $42 this deal included a 45-min acupuncture treatment and a 30-min massage. The reviews were good, so I thought "what the heck" and purchased it. Before my visit it was required to fill out paperwork. Annoying, but I did what was required in order to make an appointment. This is when the nightmare began.. I called in and for some reason I couldn't make an appointment on a weekend. I don't remember why, but I think they were booked for several weekends or wasn't opened on the weekends. Anyways, I made my appointment for the next week. When it came time for me to go in I was going to be five minutes late, so I called the owner to let him know. He didn't seem too happy. When I arrived, I was greeted at the door by Tom. He seemed a little irritated with me from the beginning. He set me up in the acupuncture room right away since I was late. He went through a 10 minute spill about acupuncture and how it can unblock the body's energy pathways. I felt like his sentences were very open, but when I asked a question regarding acupuncture he would tell me that I would need an assessment on my body, which was not included in my session. Hinting to the fact that he wanted me to come back for an assessment. This was NOT something that I was interested in. As he began the acupuncture, I thought I would be receiving several needles to unblock my energy pathways, but this was not the case. I literally only received six needles. One on each wrists, one on each ear, one on my scalp, and one on my forehead. I thought the 45-min session would require more needles than that! What did I do for the remaining time? I laid there. I was not impressed, as they didn't do anything for me. The needles didn't hurt when they went in, but they did sting a little coming out. I actually had some blood on my ear which wasn't very pleasant. Irritated, I asked if it was time for him to perform the massage. "Nope"- I was told that Christy would be doing the massage a different day. At that point I was very upset, but didn't show it on my face. I really didn't want to have to deal with making another appointment! Luckily, she had an opening for the next week. When I arrived I was very positive, hoping for a better experience. Unfortunately, it was not at ALL any better than the service that I received from Tom. As I entered the room she told me to undress and get under the sheets. She left the room while I did this, which I respected. However, I did not respect the conversation that she had with me while getting my massage. She was very personal with her life and was asking me stuff I did not feel comfortable answering. It would have been much more relaxing if nothing was said at all. The massage itself was terrible. In the description of the Groupon, it stated that I could choose from four massages (Swedish, deep-tissue, sports, or neuromuscular massage). None of which was offered to me. She just got in there with some tiger balm.. I assumed since she used the balm that she decided on the sports therapy massage. I would have chose the deep-tissue. Now, imagine someone talking to you the entire session..It was the opposite of relaxing. Furthermore, I could tell there was no effort given on her end. I am being honest when I say that a dog could give a better massage than her. It felt like she was using her pinky's while rubbing my back. Also, she didn't apply any pressure. Not a pleasant experience at all. I am not someone who gives one stars, but felt enticed to do so for this business. Also, please note that I wouldn't waste my time writing a review if I wasn't being sincere. I felt like I was being played as a fool. The deal simply over promised and under delivered. PLEASE be wary of this place as I would NOT recommend it to my worst enemy!
