| - In my opinion, Cathy and the rest of the Hydrant Club staff are excelling at everything related to keeping happy pups and happy owners. My wife and I moved to Las Vegas last year and were interested in a place our two frenchies would be able to socialize, exercise, and feel comfortable boarding. We were impressed with the Hydrant Club from day one - first at Cathy's level of professionalism, to their onboarding process, to the level of communication related to preparing one of our socially awkward dogs for integration into the Hydrant Club community.
And while it's normal for owners to be all smiles and promises prior to becoming a member, Cathy and her team continued to go above and beyond after our dogs (and my wife and I) became members of the club. We started with buying individual half days and later chose to purchase the once a week plan, while boarding frequently over long weekends. Throughout our membership, Cathy continued to be extremely responsive to our booking requests as well as general questions. She always greeted us with a warm smile and gave us updates on how our dogs socialized that day.
More importantly, the Hydrant Club was the highlight for our dogs' weeks while in Las Vegas. All we had to do was mention the name and they would jump up to put on their leash. They were all smiles when they saw the entrance and always left exhausted from playing with the pack and still had their smiles. All the dogs at the club seemed friendly and you could see the excitement each had upon greeting new dogs as they entered for the day.
Seeing some of the less positive reviews on this site, I can understand the frustration of not being accepted immediately or wanting 100% accommodation to your schedules. However, I think by voicing your frustration you are actually calling out the strengths and qualities that make Hydrant Club unique - the focus on assessing all dogs prior to admission to build a strong pack mentality and on introducing order and professionalism in what I have often found lacking at other boarding/day care facilities. While it's unfortunate that not all dogs are able to become a member due to aggressive behavior, Cathy and her team seem committed to working with all breeds, but this also requires the cooperation and attention from the owners as well. If you are the type of owner who treats your pups as family and want a community that treats your pups (and you) as extended family, I think you will fully appreciate the approach and community Cathy and her team have built.
Overall, I cannot recommend the Hydrant Club enough. We recently moved out of Las Vegas and we know our we will all miss Cathy and her team tremendously.
