| - Two words: very disappointed. My XC60's warranty ran out less than a year ago and I needed an oil change. Since the service is no longer free, I debated taking it somewhere else. But Volvo of Las Vegas sends me numerous coupons, so I decided to make an appointment with them. I called to make an appointment, but was told the service department was busy. I told the operator I wanted to make an appointment for an oil change. She took my name and number and said they would call back. After waiting 24 hours I had to call back because they never returned my call. I pulled up at 9:00 on a Tuesday and saw that there weren't any other cars. I thought, like other times I've come and other dealerships I have visited, a service technician would hop out to greet me. Nobody. I get my 2 kids out of the car and head inside. There are two technicians at their podiums who don't even look up as I walk in, but the one I have the appointment with says he will be right with me. He eventually asks if he can help me and I tell him I have an appointment for an oil change. He barely cracked a smile. He did the routine check of my car and I signed for my service. As he is doing the necessary paperwork I look up to read the banners of recognition the dealership has gotten for service and notice they haven't received the award in several years. Why am I not surprised?! The guy hasn't even made any effort to make conversation with me, a customer who is paying to have their oil changed. After the cold greeting I proceed to the children's waiting area. The refrigerator is stocked with bottles of water and the coffee area is clean. Thankfully my kids brought some of their own toys because every toy they pulled out of the "toy box" was either filthy or broken. I was pleasantly surprised when I was told my car was ready within one hour. The service technician walked me to the cashier, still not talking, but forcing a small smile and said, "Everything looks fine." That was it. I paid the bill and told my children it was time to go. As I was leaving, the service tech followed me to the door, and I thought, finally, he is going to do something nice, and walk me to my car as other techs have done in the past. Nope. He was just making sure the glass door closed behind me. Wow. I have gone to Jiffy Lubes and Grease Monkeys where the employees talk with you and make you feel welcome and that your business is appreciated. Not at Volvo of Las Vegas. I have had great experiences there before, when the services were FREE. And ironically, now that I'm PAYING for an oil change I don't feel like a valued customer at all. I had even contemplated buying an XC90. If I do, I don't think it will be from this dealership, but will have to go out of town since it is the only Volvo dealership in LV.
The dealership gets two stars for completing the service in the time in which they quoted and I'm hoping it was all done well.
