I came here after having lunch and the only thing I could fit in my stomach is Nutella malasada. However, I've made a mental note of what to try next time: pancit Malabon (similar to pancit palabok but with thicker noodles and more things going on), adobo rice, and tapsilog.
I got Nutella malasadas and a custard malasada. They make them fresh to order so, you'd have to wait and there's a minimum of 3 per order.
The only problem I have is that waiting for the malasadas left me smelling like grease. They need a better vent.
Going back to the malasadas...I was told to wait about 5 minutes before eating them. I was fanning my lovely sugary malasadas...has it been 5 minutes yet? Ok, 4 minutes is long enough! I ripped a Nutella malasada in half and ooey gooey chocolate hazelnutty gloriousness that is Nutella inside the golden brown fried dough - GET IN MY MOUTH!!! The sugar and golden exterior made it crunchy while the inside was nice and pillowy with melted Nutella. I had Nutella all over the sides of my mouth and on my chin, and sugar all over my black pants. It was everything I had imagined...but I took one home so I could put more Nutella on it.
I honestly had low expectations for the custard malasada. I thought it was going to be basic but nooooo! It was nice creamy thick vanilla custard oozing from a fried dough hole. I felt like eating a Nutella malasada, chased by a custard malasada, and then another Nutella malasada...until I've eaten 20 malasadas.
