When you think "Red Roof Inn," you're thinking that the quality of the hotel will be somewhat less than that of a more expensive chain. And that's probably why you're thinking of it because we all can't afford to stay at a Marriott or Wyndham hotel.
I didn't have high hopes for this hotel, but except for check-in, this property exceeded my expectations. The check-in process was a little bumpy because there were no rooms ready when I checked in (check-in time was noon - on the early side, I know). Not a big deal, but the employee working the desk confirmed my reservation and said it would be ready later in the day.
We returned around 11:00 that night and I stopped by the office to check-in and I was pleased that the gentleman working that evening actually gave me a rate that was even more discounted than the rate I had reserved (I don't believe this had anything to do with the late check-in). We were able to check in pretty quickly and headed to our room. There are two buildings (upper and lower) and we were in the lower building. When we opened the door, I was pleasantly suprised to see our room neat as a pin. The air conditioner was on and towels and toiletries were adequately stocked. The bathroom was small, but featured wood laminate and a PAINTING ON THE WALL! Very nice for the price. The beds were okay (I didn't have any problems getting to sleep, nor did I wake up with back pain).
They do not serve any sort of breakfast here, but there is a Denny's adjacent to the property and a McDonald's approx. 1000 feet away on the other side of Denny's. There is a Sheetz gas station/c-store across the street and several strip centers (one featuring a grocery store) within a half-mile of the property.
I would stay here again the next time in town. I believe it to be a good deal.
