| - The pictures tell the story. I ended up at Nail Creations after the nail salon I usually visit did not have time for me. My initial visit was pleasant, and I really enjoyed talking with Tina. We were laughing it up, talking about her new grandbaby, and I was kind of happy serendipity had led me to Nail Creations. I thought it would be my new manicure/pedicure spot.
I got my initial manicure on June 6th. Fast forward to June 11th, and I notice that the edges of my manicure are starting to peel. (Please note that I do not chew on my nails or do anything abnormal to my manicures.) I happen to be in an airport on my way to Mexico, so I snap a picture thinking that when I arrive back to the States I can show Tina. My laugh-buddy will understand this is a subpar manicure, (perhaps faulty nail polish?) and repaint them. I did not use my own polish.
This morning I stopped back in to show her the current state of my nails (almost completely peeled by now) and the picture from June 11th. I explained to her what happened, and this is how it played out:
1. "Oh, a regular manicure typically lasts only 3-4 days. You should get gel." I explained that that has never been my experience in my years of painting my nails and having my nails painted.
2. "Well, it depends on the polish." I replied, "So, the polish you used on me was bad?"
3. "No, I used the good stuff on you. "
4. "If you had come back in the day after, we could have done something." I explained that I have been out of the country but had taken the picture 5-days after while I was in the airpot to show that the manicure had started peeling.
5. "If you want, I will repaint, but you have to pay."
This is when I became upset and said, "Thanks for trying to help. You will not see me again." I wasn't expecting a full manicure. I just wanted her to repaint my nails to right the wrong of whatever had gone wrong the first time.
I think it is far from unreasonable to expect a manicure to last for longer than 4 days. Case in point, my toes (which I also had painted there) still look acceptable. My nails on the other hand, not so much. I would not recommend visiting Nail Creations if you want to go to a salon that will stand behind their work or a manicure that lasts longer than 4 days.
