  • i feel like this office is constantly holding my health hostage for ransom. On the positive side, the girls who work at the front desk are great, so helpful and kind. The doctors are even nice. Thus the 1 star. It's their policies and their blatant prioritizing of profit over patients that drive me to the edge. i've had thyroid problems since my late teens and have lived in 4 different states and have had as many endocrinologists in the past 15 years. I began attending this office for care in 2007. Never have I experienced such a racket until I came here. My number one complaint: In all previous doctor care, my blood lab results were analyzed and, in a letter, i would receive my results, a positive note that all is well, or a new prescription to adjust my levels. Here, you MUST physically go to the office to wait 20-30+ minutes to be seen for 3 minutes at a price of $50 co-pay (or whatever your carrier calls for) or $145 *without insurance. You can get a phone consult for $90, as it's not covered by insurance. This is incredibly inconvenient when working full time, especially in my case where my levels were drastically changing and were uncontrolled on medication for nearly a year. I was having blood work done nearly each month for a period of 6-8 months and had to physically enter their building and hand over my cash to find out if i was ok or not. I actually got in trouble at work for having so many appointments. (my employer did not understand a thing about thyroid disease). Another aspect of this office that makes me lose my mind is how it began as a doctor's office, but seems to have evolved into a medspa. They sell facial products in the waiting room like it's a salon. Once, after waiting for 20 minutes in the exam room after having already waited in the lobby just as long, my doctor (who is no longer there now) entered and, rather than apologizing for being late, apologized for being red in the face stating, "i just had a chemical peel." Are you kidding me? I just want a normal doctor who cares for patient health rather than dollar signs. You may wonder why i haven't switched doctors yet. I chose this office because Dr. Rudgear was listed on thyroid.org as a board certified endocrinologist. Qualifications matter to me in the medical field. Mind you I've only seen her twice, on my first visit and to perform what turned out to be a medically unnecessary fine needle biopsy which later caused me to lose my health coverage for my condition when i switched carriers. All in all, if you're made of time and money and want an injection of juviderm while you wait to address any actual health issues, this is the place for you. My search for a new doctor continues. I only hope I'm allowed to transfer my own medical files without a hefty fee.
